Hi 6th Grade Families,
Just a reminder that our Denver Art Museum field trip is coming up on Thursday of this week. We will be leaving the school between 8:45 and 9:00 and returning sometime around 1:30 or 1:45. Students will need to bring a sack lunch and wear comfortable shoes for walking around the museum. The day is supposed to be nice but a jacket for the chilly morning ride would also be a great idea. Most kids have turned in permission slips but I sent home extras with a few stragglers. If you don’t remember filling one out, you can also access it using the link below.

Celebrations:
Congratulations to Addie Todd, Charlotte London and Kelsey Silverman for taking their Reflections projects to the Jefferson County School District Level competition. Addie and Charlotte created stunning visual art through drawing and Kelsey created a stop motion animation of a day in her life, penguin style. Kelsey’s movie will be moving on to the state competition. Congratulations to all three ladies!

A belated congratulations to Sabrina Jameson for becoming a published author! Sabrina’s short essay “The Feeling of Music” was published in an issue of New Moon Girls! She beautifully captured the power of playing a piece of music. Well done, Sabrina!
Finally, our class celebrated a job well done on cultural projects about Pre-Columbian cultures of the Western Hemisphere. Projects will go home soon (they take a while to grade). In the meantime, enjoy this video compilation of the day. Sorry to those of you I missed in the bustle but I hopefully captured your artifact if you weren’t nearby when I was snapping photos.
