Halloween- Coronado’s Halloween festivities will take place from 1:40- 2:50 on October 31st. Students may bring costumes to change into after lunch on Monday. Students may not wear masks over their faces or bring anything that can be construed as a weapon. We will join in the parade around the school before returning to our classroom for an end of day party.
Projects Projects Projects: We have a lot of things coming due in the next two weeks for reading, writing, science and social studies. Students have had ample class time to work and should be close to finishing. However, some might find they have typing to do at home, depending on how they’ve managed their work time.
Students added due dates to calendars today and I want to alert parents to some of the work that might need to be finished at home.
Social Studies- Students will have work time in class Monday and Wednesday of this week to work on cultural paragraphs. Each paragraph is required to be at least 200 words covering the areas of daily life, beliefs, economics, government and entertainment/technology. Students are encouraged to keep their writing to no more than a page for display purposes. All 5 (or 6 for the 4 component) paragraphs are due on November 4th
Science- Students will have work time in class Tuesday and Thursday for element reports. They are due November 4th so any unfinished work will need to be completed at home.
Atom models, which were assigned a month ago, are due this Friday, October 28th. This was an at home assignment.
Reading- The final two paragraphs for the book report project are due Friday, October 28th. Students will have time in class each day this week to work on completing them. We will have a visual project work day this Friday morning in class. I have some craft supply odds and ends. If your child wants a specific supply like a box or craft supplies, they are welcome to bring them on Friday. Students will present projects to one another on Monday morning during literacy.
Writing- Our narrative writing pieces are due Monday, October 31st. Students began publishing last week and will have work time Monday-Wednesday this week.
